Bit of History:
Made by J and C(Jacot and Courvasier) in New York in the 1850's, this heavy solid 18kt gold case design was promoted at the time as - Gold "Magic" hunting watch and was constructed as such as the wearer could, at pleasure, change the appearance of his watch from open face to a hunting case style, exhibiting the design and workmanship of the elaborate engraving. At the time British movements were used, but I suspect that somebody converted it to a "younger" Waltham of the 1890's.
