Lots of newness for him...and one for her too!
My parents are on their annual buying trip to the incomparable Baselworld watch fair in Basel, Switzerland. They will spend all day every day for the next four days looking at all of the new releases that our current brands will put out this year, as well as new brands to potentially bring to Colorado! They are supposed to send us lovely photos from every booth that they visit, but mostly, my parents send us pictures of really yummy looking food. You would think they were on a food tasting trip!
At the end of the night, late at night Basel time, we can usually catch them and convince them to send us a few emails of the watches.
May I present the latest and the greatest from Basel, day one.

In between they checked out Meistersinger. Meistersinger is the producer of the iconic one handed watches. The idea of the brand is incredibly romantic, forcing the wearer to realize that days and time are actually longer than we think. When we take the minutes and seconds out of life, the hand rotates around the clock seemingly slower. So, the brand idea is romantic, the implementation is nothing short of stunning. The dial colors that Meistersinger has introduced in the last couple years are gorgeous! The dials are mesmerizing, the movement is true art. Based on their established hand winding caliber MSH01, Meistersinger introduced their automatic variation this year, MSA01. Twin barrel and incredibly finished. The automatic movement also introduces a date feature to the watches.
This year's additions are:
Beautiful skeleton with rich blue outer ring.

The next booth was Muhle Glashutte, a favorite brand of ours that we brought into the US almost 20 years ago. Now 5th generation and located in the birthplace of German watchmaking, Glashutte. Originally a nautical instrument company, Muhle is the longest continuously running company in Glashutte having stayed in their town even after the end of the Second World War. They are a beautiful family that takes full advantage of eastern Germany's rolling hills and great beer!
This year's novelties from Muhle included a new collection!
May we present the ProMare collection by Muhle Glashutte. ProMare is a combination of Latin words meaning, "for the sea."
The ProMare collection will have a ladies piece with a stunning mother of pearl dial and an extremely comfortable rubber strap. It is 39mm and is a nice more feminine variation for the series. The gents variation will come three hand "Datum" or chronograph variation with a more robust 44mm case. There is a strap option for rubber or stainless steel bracelet. The ProMare collection is 300m water resistant and features the luminous hands and markers that are known to glow so well on the Muhle dive pieces. We can't wait to see this collection in the store!

The newest update to Muhle's in house movement, the RMK03,
a date hand. This is the three pieces that currently make up
the Robert Muhle collection, and homage named for the
founder of the company. The anthracite dial is balanced nicely
with the white outlined date, small seconds, and power reserve
sub dials. This is a limited edition of only 100 pieces.
The last addition is also a pointer date. Interestingly, Muhle
decided to add pointer dates to the collections this year due to
the more than 200 year history that the date hand has on watches,
first having been introduced in pocket watches in 1793.
The 29er Ziegerdatum is a very cool addition to the already popular
collection and features a gorgeous nautical themed dial with red
and light blue accents. The dark blue canvas strap is the perfect
finishing touch. I didn't know this interesting fact, but the collection
is named for a class of sailing dinghies used by young sailing
talents in their competitions in the Junior Championship class run
by the German Sailing Association.
The nautical themed pieces introduced this year have been a very
Cool way to remember the roots of this nautical instrument
Company. We still fulfill many orders for the famous Muhle
Glashutte ships bell clocks and ship chronometers, which are
beautifully finished and perfect for a boat or a home.
The last brand of the day was Cuervo y Sobrinos. They have so many introductions, that I will tell you more about them in tomorrow's post. If you are interested in preordering any pieces please let us know and we will get them ordered for you.
Cheers and may you always know the Right Time!
